October 29, 2011 in Linux
Since the last few months , I was searching for a download manager for my Linux distribution . Why people run behind download manager has a reason and that is simply for the ability to pause and resume downloads and not only that , a download manager helps a person to secure a file while downloading . However , here i am going to describe about the application .
Last night , I got Retriever Download Manager 2.0 and I found it working properly on my OS.
A Small Introduction About the Application
[ Retriever Download Manager program was written completely in the Java programming language and will run on any operating system with a Java Virtual Machine installed (JVM 1.4 or higher) & it's a freeware .
Retriever allows you to download files from the Internet easier and with more control than from your web browser, with it you can resume interrupted downloads at any time that's convenient or even schedule downloads to occur when you're away from your computer. Even if one server is too busy to accommodate you Retriever will automatically switch to another to continue your download.
You can even temporarily pause your download and resume it instantly a few minutes later. ]
